Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I consider hiring a wedding planner?

With today's hectic lifestyle, many engaged couples and their families simply do not have the time for the detailed planning and work involved that a beautiful wedding requires. When you hire a wedding planner, she brings her knowledge and her experience to the table. She has a wealth of vendor contacts at her fingertips and will be able to suggest the perfect vendors just for you to bring your dream wedding to life. Better yet, she knows the pitfalls to avoid that most first-time brides wouldn't even be aware of and can offer suggestions that will make your wedding vision a reality beyond your expectations.

Why can't I do the planning myself?

You can certainly do the planning yourself, and we encourage our clients to be involved in the planning and decision making, especially as that is sometimes part of the fun. But it also can be a hassle: checking out many sources for each vendor category, making sure all the details are in place, worrying about whether you're getting the best deal, keeping track of the budget, handing the guest list, and simply wondering whether everything will turn out right. Our professional and accredited wedding planners have the training and experience to make it all come together while you relax and enjoy the entire experience. After all, wedding planning should be an experience to enjoy!

Is it important for a wedding planner to have some form of training or professional designation?

Most definitely yes! There is nothing stopping anyone from saying they are a wedding or event planner, but all of our planners are certified by either the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada or the Association of Bridal Consultants. (In many cases, our consultants have completed both programs.) Our professional consultants understand the importance of lifelong learning. They willingly invest their time and energy into attending conferences and workshops, developing a network with other wedding vendors and planners throughout the world, and staying on top of current industry trends in order to be the expert source that you need and want.

How do I know that my wedding planner is recommending quality vendors?

Some vendors do offer commissions to consultants, but as a member of the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada and the Association of Bridal Consultants, our consultants do not accept commissions, and in turn, offer any potential savings we're offered back to our clients. For example, if a DJ offers us a 10% discount off their services, we pass that 10% discount on to our clients. You can be guaranteed that if we recommend a vendor to you, the sole reason is because they provide the type of quality service that you deserve.

What does it cost? Can I even afford a wedding planner?

The fee will vary depending on the types of services you request. To begin the process, we meet with potential clients for a COMPLEMENTARY initial consultation. This allows us to determine exactly what you need as well as get a chance for us to know each other and how we will work together. From there, we can customize a program exclusively for the two of you.

Pricing is always created as a menu format, allowing you to select the aspects that you are comfortable with. Pricing for planning services varies due to size, details, and location of the wedding.

Fees can be broken down into monthly payment options, making wedding planning services more affordable.

How does wedding planning work? Won't a wedding planner want to run the whole show?

A professional wedding planner will work with you to handle as much or as little of your wedding as you wish. After all, it is your wedding. They are there to offer suggestions and guide you through the planning process, but you are the one that makes the final decisions. The planner is there to help you and your family make your wedding day as perfect as possible!

Do I need a wedding planner?

A wedding planner will be a distinct asset as you plan your wedding. Wouldn't it be nice to spend time with your fiancé, your families, and your friends rather than worrying about all the details of your special day? A planner will take care of those details, leaving you to have the fun. And on your wedding day, you shine as the star, while your consultant and her team works behind the scenes to make your dreams come true!
